Cash injection for aged care
NURSING home residents across the region are set to reap the benefits of more than half a million dollars in federal funding.
Carramar Hostel in Stanthorpe, Kadimah Nursing Home and Leslie Place Aged Persons Hostel in Killarney and Regency Park Aged Care in Warwick will share in $585,000 for capital works and 42 residential care places.
Kadimah Nursing Home is the recipient of a hefty grant to the value of $440,000, with fellow Killarney facility Leslie Place Aged Home receiving $145,000.
Regency Park Aged Care and Carramar Hostel will share in a total of 42 residential places.
Federal LNP member for Maranoa Bruce Scott said the funding approvals were a much-needed boost for aged care services in the Warwick and Granite Belt region.
Mr Scott said the support had been made available through the 2011 Aged Care Approvals Round (ACAR) and the 2011 Extra Service Approvals Round.
"This investment is great news for communities in the Warwick and Granite Belt region and it will help strengthen local aged care services," he said.
