Celebrate fatherhood at church barbecue

A GOOD family night out is on the agenda for Warwick Uniting Church, which will hold a pre-Father's Day cookout tomorrow night.

Festivities will kick off from 5.30pm with the Mainly Music program, followed by a delicious dinner of sausages and other grilled goodies.

Bush dancing will start around 7pm, as well as other activities for youth group members and younger kids.

Supper will be served at 8.30pm, with dancing to continue if there is enough interest.

The usual Sunday morning service this week will also include a "little bit of Father's Day", according to the Reverend Tony Shumack.

"Along with Mother's Day, it reminds us of the significance of parents," Mr Shumack said.

"One of the images of God is the best father you can ever imagine.

"No-one is perfect ... it reminds us of the ideals of fatherhood that we are striving for."

Dinner cost is just a donation to the church.

The church aims to hold a family night once a term, giving an opportunity for family bonding, as well as a lot of fun.
