Centre set to lead Wattles in final of the President's Cup

RUGBY LEAGUE: Wattles has two teams in the Toowoomba Rugby League President's Cup finals on Sunday at Clive Berghofer Stadium.

The reserve and A-grade teams will each play Valleys in the final two games of the day.

The A-grade Madsen Rasmussen Trophy final will be the first at the stadium since 2015.

Wattles are second in both competitions.

Long-time Wattles player Brenden Wilson is captain-coach of the reserve-grade team.

Last Sunday, Tom Morris and Josh Henry from Allora were in the key positions in the halves.

The Madsen Rasmussen Trophy is in memory of internationals Mick Madsen and Elton Rasmussen.

Madsen played his first footy in the Tannymorel area east of Warwick and then moved to Toowoomba.

He was named in the Queensland Rugby League Team of the Century.
