Motorcycle champions burning rubber at Morgan Park
NEXT weekend Morgan Park Raceway will be filled with the sound of revving engines, screeching tyres and cheering crowds when the track's largest motorcycle event of the year hits the start line.
The Masters of Morgan Park, held on May 4-5, features a round of the National BEARS (British European American/Australian/NZ Racing Series) Challenge and Historic Classes to decide Queensland Champions.
The feature race will be The Gregg Hansford Memorial Trophy in which the 30 fastest racers from the Historic classes go head to head.
Racer James Arnold said he could not wait to take to the track.
Arnold, who is the vineyard manager for Leasingham Wines in South Australia, has been racing at club level for the past two years.
He had a successful Easter weekend competing in the first round of the Australian BEARS National Motorcycle Racing series at Mt Gambier.
Arnold claimed the top spot in the Formula 1 and is leading the series on this Ducati 1199 Panigale.
A weekend pass at the gate costs $12, which includes a sausage sizzle and a drink. Everyone in the crowd has a chance to win a Shoei XR1100 Transmission of M2R Ignition Helmet.
