Championships coming to Warwick Clay Target Club

THE Warwick Clay Target Club will host the Queensland championships in double trap on November 21.

The state double trap championship will be contested over 75 pairs (two targets released at once) as a forerunner to the final.

Russell Mark and Michael Diamond have won Olympic medals down the years in the double trap championship.

Club secretary Terry Davis said the club expected 50 shooters for the event.

"There will be some shooters from interstate," he said.

Queensland state and postal teams will contest the event.

Many national championships are contested by postal teams who provide their score at events right around the nation to determine championship winners.

A team competing in Warwick on November 21 in the postal event will be competing against teams which could be shooting on a weekend this month in Western Australia.
