Changes to the suitcase rummage gives more room to shop

AFTER furious uproar and well crafted feedback, the Jumpers and Jazz organisers have bowed to public pressure and returned the Suitcase Rummage to Palmerin St.

Event organiser Pam Burley reckons it'll make for a much nicer experience.

"We got lot of feedback from the community and they don't like it in an alley,” she said.

"We have listen to the community and duly responded.”

At present, 65 stallholders have register for the adhoc market.

"The Suitcase Rummage co-ordinators have said Jumper and Jazz is their favourite event to attend and I think 65 stallholders is a record for them,” Ms Burley said.

"Everything on sale has to be handmade, vintage or recycled, it's all a bit different but it doesn't take away from the markets on the Sunday.

"It's more of quirky, vintage sort of a feel to it.”

Another big addition to the weekend's activities will be Kidszone play area at the base of the Thomas Byrnes monument.

The Condamine Headwaters Landcare Group are bringing in a sandpit along with trucks and farm toys for kids to play with. Meanwhile the Warwick Potters Association with run a Play with Clay workshop.

"The potters have very generously offered to fire the work and return it to the children so they can keep it,” Ms Burley said.

Parents suffering from overly energetic kids can take them to Bubble Buzz. This Gold Coast entertainer will bring a swag of Bumber Ball.

"It's like a big blow-up doughnut and kids can get in the middle and bump and bounce around. It looks like a lot of fun,” Ms Burley said.
