Charges laid over Goondiwindi thefts

POLICE have charged two people in relation to a number of burglaries and vehicle thefts in Goondiwindi early last week.

One vehicle alleged to have been stolen by the pair, was used to ram a service station during a robbery in Warialda, New South Wales.

The vehicles have since been returned to their owners, but almost all of the items stolen remain missing.

One of the vehicles was stolen from Kildonan Rd, Goondwindi after the offenders gained access to a shed on the property and took a Ford Courier vehicle.

Another vehicle was stolen from a property on Frideswide St after keys were discovered by the thieves during a burglary.

The vehicle was later found in bushland at Toomelah Mission, New South Wales.

Goondiwindi Police Detective Sargeant Brett Richard described the thefts as opportunistic and said investigations were continuing in relation to the incidents.
