Charity in need of more angels

A GENEROUS donation will give charity Angel Flight a boost for Christmas.

Members of the Hermitage-Yangan QCWA proudly presented a small cheque to Angel Flight representatives Val Murphy and Lindsay White.

Ms Murphy said the donation would help fuel the aircraft so they could continue to help those in need.

"Just recently a lady from Killarney used Angel Flight to go to a medical appointment," she said.

"Usually it would take her three days.

"However she caught the flight from Massie and was able to be back within 12 hours."

QCWA member Celine Stephens said each year they chose a different charity to which to donate.

"We like to help out wherever we can," she said.

"The money came from proceeds at our Christmas party, Christmas bowl."

Ms Murphy said Angel Flight were also short on volunteers.

"A lot of our volunteers are getting older," she said.

"It would be nice to have some fresh faces to help fundraise." Would you like to donate to Angel Flight or become a volunteer? Phone Val on 4661 2001.

Angel Flight donations are tax deductible. More information at http://www.angelflight.org.au.
