"On behalf of the people of Queensland I look forward to welcoming Their Royal Highnesses to Longreach and showcasing this part of regional Queensland to our visitors," Mr Newman said.

"The program will highlight the challenges of Australia's outback and the positive spirit and personal achievements that have opened up our regional communities.

""I am sure Queenslanders will give The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall a warm welcome to our state."

The Australian visit will be based on the central theme of The Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations, service to the community, and will take Their Royal Highnesses to both regional communities and major cities around Australia.

The Prince Of Wales will officially name a new aircraft for the Royal Flying Doctor Service at the QANTAS Founders Museum, visit the Australian Stockman's Hall of Fame, then join hundreds of families at the Diamond Jubilee Community barbecue.

The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall will also visit Melbourne, Adelaide, Hobart, Sydney and Canberra while in Australia.
