Inglewood chickens take historic flight to China
YESTERDAY saw the first shipment of Inglewood Farms organic free range chickens take off on a flight bound for Hong Kong.
Inglewood Farms owners Andrew Youngberry and his daughter Katrina Hobbs were at the Toowoomba West Wellcamp Airport to see off the first exports.
Director of Inglewood Farms Katrina Hobbs said the investment by the Wagner family in constructing the newest international airport in the country had opened a wealth of opportunities for local businesses.
"It is without a doubt, that by supporting local businesses, the region is able to reap better rewards, whilst providing jobs and key industries in the communities," she said.
"Today is a special day for Inglewood Farms, as not only are we sending chicken on the Wellcamp maiden voyage direct to our export market; it is also our company's second birthday."
Jett Foods, My Meat Man and Nature's Parlour are some of the first importers of Inglewood Farms chickens.
This opportunity for the Darling Downs is the first of its kind and a welcome commercial investment.
