Chilly start predicted for holidays

IT WILL be a bit chilly but the sun will be shining for the start of the school holidays this weekend.

A Bureau of Meteorology spokesman said we could expect typical winter days this weekend.

"There will clear skies, and it will be a little bit nippy with a slight wind," he said.

"There will not be awful conditions by any means."

The mercury is expected to climb from three to 16 degrees today.

There will be frost about tomorrow morning with a low of one degree. It will be slightly cooler only reaching a top of 13 degrees.

It will be a chilly start on Monday with a low of two but it will warm for a beautiful day with a top of 15. Tuesday will reach a top of 16 degrees.

The fine weather will continue on Wednesday which will be a relatively warm day.

There is a small chance of a shower or two on Thursday and Friday.
