Chook fashion entrepreneur a hit with festival crowds

WARWICK rolled out the red carpet at the weekend for Max Cosgrove and his wardrobe of chicken fashion items.

The 12-year-old entrepreneur began his business after making his first chicken beanie to cheer up his mother while she was going through cancer treatment.

He was at the Celebration of Local Flavours event on Saturday to sell his chicken fashion items and raise money for breast cancer charities.

Max said he was shocked by the support he received from the crowd.

"It was really good to meet everybody,” he said. "I was amazed, people were running up to me to get a photo.”

"People are just really excited to support breast cancer charities.”

Festival crowds showed support with their wallets as well, as Max nearly sold out of his chumper and chini range.

Max's mum Belinda Cosgrove said the warm response helps boost his confidence.

"People recognise that he is a genuine little farm boy,” she said.

Mrs Cosgrove also sold 247 raffle tickets at the festival, bringing him closer to his $35,000 donation goal for breast cancer charities.

A huge chook-themed prize pack is up for grabs, featuring a range of Max's products.

If you would like to help Max achieve his goal, raffle tickets can be bought from maxschickensofficial.bigcartel.com.
