Chooks, cows and a roll of carpet

WARWICK'S charity auctioneer superstar Tom Potts was on the other side of the hammer today, as he took few things to sell off at the weekly Pig and Calf Sale.

Arriving by bicycle, towing a custom-made trailer, signed humorously, Potts Heavy Haulage, Tom plonked a few rolls of carpet into the auction rows.

"I've also brought a rooster along,” he said.

"Some friends gave it to me, because they didn't want it. So I've come to see if I can make a little bit of money for it.

"I'll be happy if I get $10.”

Chooks are a bit of a passion for Tom.

"I used to have show chooks,” he said.

"I don't do it any more though. That was fun, you give them a bath to get them ready for the show, then you can blow dry them or let them dry normally.”

Tom said he also had a large collection of chook and cow ornaments.

"I don't know how many, but there's heaps,” he said,

"My auntie even bought me a cow figurine all the way from England.”
