MY COMMENT: Parties and carols add a touch of festive fun

CHRISTMAS may still officially be 18 days away, but the festivities have well and truly started.

As the countdown looms ever so close, the fun of Christmas parties begins and we see why this time of year is called the silly season.

Christmas parties are for many the highlight of the year.

It's one of the only nights of the year where workmates, classmates, club members and friends can gather like family, let their hair down and have a bit of fun.

I was lucky enough to be invited to the Warwick Potters Christmas party again this year, and what a memorable event it was.

So much laughter and fun times mixed with some gift giving, a pop quiz (a tricky one at that!) and an amazing array of food.

Did I mention the sneaky glass of wine?

That's every Christmas party's best friend.

Christmas can be a stressful time, a hard time, and sometimes a sad time, but the little parties and festivities along the way make it all worth it.

It's only taken one Christmas party to get this Grinch into the spirit and there are many more to come.

Now's the time to enjoy the Secret Santas, the office or club Christmas party, a carol event or two and to embrace the more light-hearted side of the festive season.
