CITIZENSHIP SAGA: David Littleproud is a dinky-di Aussie

WITH the never-ending citizenship saga in Australian politics, Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull is hoping to put a stop to the shock reveals today.

The Prime Minister yesterday gave parliamentarians until 9am today to provide statements in relation to their citizenship.

Chinchilla-born Member for Maranoa David Littleproud said there were no concerns about a secret citizenship conflict in his family.

"Apart from a grandfather from Sydney, which I don't hold against him during State of Origin clashes, my parents and other grandparents were all born in Southern Queensland, from Chinchilla and Dalby to Goondiwindi and Toowoomba,” Mr Littleproud said.

"The Coalition has been upfront and honest, with MPs and Senators shining a light on citizenship ambiguity and setting the record straight but here's Labor saying, 'just trust that we're telling the truth'.

"There's significant doubt about the eligibility of at least four Labor members of the House. Labor has not been upfront about this so that's why this citizenship register is needed.”
