City duo in fine form for Downs

DARLING  Downs 15 years manager Roy Nott praised the form of Southern Downs pair Max Somes and Dan Watson in the Queensland 15 years schoolboys carnival last week in Toowoomba.

"Max played well in the front row for Darling Downs," Nott said.

"He ran the ball strongly in the four games.

"Dan was one of our starting centres and did everything right in the first two games before suffering an ankle injury and missing the final two games."

Darling Downs recorded wins against South West and North West.

Tristan Hope (Harristown High), Jarred Tuite (St Mary's, Toowoomba) and Thomas Packer (Toowoomba Grammar School) made the Queensland White (second) side.

Both White and Maroons Queensland sides will play in Darwin on June 25-30.

The Darling Downs open side will play in state championships at Kawana on May 17-20.
