Civoniceva comes to Platz to give players a boost
RETIRED international rugby league prop Petero Civoniceva will be at Platz Oval on Saturday, March 1, for a come-and-try day from 8.30am to 10am.
Civoniceva is visiting schools in the Allora and Clifton areas today before attending Wattles Warriors Friday night training at Platz Oval.
He will pass on some helpful hints to players at the come-and-try which is being organised by NRL development officer Jim Stephens and the Wattles juniors.
Stephens said all players were welcome to come along and give rugby league a try.
Junior rugby league in the Warwick and District competition is hotting up with clubs training for the start of the season.
Players under the age of 16 welcome to play junior league.
Wattles will host Toowoomba Souths, the Queensland police and junior teams from Brisbane and Logan for six games from 12.30pm Saturday with the main game between the Wattles reserves and police team at 7pm.
Some of the proceeds will go to Men of League.
Warwick Cowboys will host Killarney and Tenterfield at Father Ranger Oval for three games, including a junior fixture, on Saturday.
The main game between Warwick and Killarney for the Xylon Smith Memorial Trophy will be at 6.30pm.
