Classy efforts at weekend carnival

THE Warwick 12 years netball team won eight games, drew one and lost two in the Challenge Carnival at Graceville at the weekend.

The losses were to the top-two teams which put Warwick into third place, one of the association’s best performances at the annual carnival.

Most of the 12 years games were against larger and taller teams.

The team was coached by Helena Fraser and Nancy De Prada and managed by Leanne Olsen.

Warwick also fielded 13 years and 15 years teams which played well against strong opposition and never stopped trying all weekend.

Four Warwick teams will play in the state age championships in Maroochydore on the Queen’s Birthday weekend and two open teams at the country carnival in July.
