'Best kept secret' ranks third

IT MAY only have a student population of 120, but the School of Total Education is doing something right when it comes to students achieving good OP scores.

An average of 92.4% of graduates over the past five years got an OP between 1-15, bringing them into a tie for third place in the state.

Agnew School, Wakerley, took out first place with 96.6%, followed by Brisbane Grammar School in second with 94.2%.

SOTE tied with Brisbane Girls Grammar and Brisbane Boys' College and Principal Shane Power said he was glad to see SOTE get such wide recognition.

"We've seen it year after year, nearly 100% of students (in the OP1-15 range) so it is something we've known," Mr Power said.

"I think we're the best kept secret in Warwick."

Year 8 student Jessica Lu said she was thrilled to hear her school had such a high academic achievement rate.

"I think it's because the teachers really do help a lot and if you don't understand (something) they really address the problem," Jessica said.
