Clifton bowler makes Australian team in cricket
CRICKET: Clifton all-rounder Eliza Flynn has made the Australian merit team after the Australian Country Cricket Championships in Wollongong.
Flynn and Wheatvale all rounder Carly Cooper were the players from the Warwick and Clifton areas in the Queensland team which came fifth in the nationals.
During the carnival, Flynn had the best individual figures, 6-4, and had the best strike rate, 9.5, among the top 25 bowlers in the carnival. She is the only Queenslander in the national team.
Flynn took 12 wickets for 114 runs at a average of 9.25.
Cooper finished the carnival 11th on the rungetters tally with 107 runs at an average of 21.4 and a top score of 29 in the T20 games.
She had a strike rate of 96.4. Cooper was equal 11th in the list of top catchers with three.
