Clifton side wins state title
CLIFTON Polocrosse Club junior players are the state champions after winning the B-grade junior competition at the Queensland Club Championships at Chinchilla last Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Clubs from across the state competed in the Queensland Club Championships, and the Clifton junior team was undefeated throughout the carnival.
They won games against Warwick, Emerald, and Tansey in the run-up to the grand final on Sunday, which saw them victorious over Calliope 8-4 in a hard-fought match.
Members of the winning team were Nick and Sam Muller, Jack Mantova, Grace Young, Phoenix Whitton and Nicki Hoey.
These players will now vie for state positions at the Queensland junior polocrosse trials at Chinchilla in two weeks.
The trials are held to select state teams for the Polocrosse Nationals to be held in Warwick next April.
