
Harlequins have triumphant win
WEEK 10 of Warwick hockey hit off to an exciting start on Friday night with a close game between Harlequins ladies and Scots ladies.
Cassie Murphy and Bree Miller showed strong form for Scots. However Harlequins ended up triumphant with a 3-1 victory.
In the men’s, Saints defeated Scots 6-1. Andrew Millard and Chris Malone defended and attacked well for Scots, and Simon Young had a great game for Saints.
Corinthians defeated a short Harlequins side 11-1. Corinthians player Jamie Reid had to use some skills to get three goals past Harlequins goalkeeper Alex Duncan who had some fantastic saves.
On Saturday night, Wyverns ladies defeated a short Scots ladies team 9-0. Shannon Armbruster scored an amazing six goals for Wyverns and Kazieh Taganny had some great breaks through the Wyverns defensive line.
In the later game, Saints ladies defeated Corinthians 4-0. Saints player Bonita Tyler played well and Lauren Nolan was the standout for Corinthians.
There is one more week of the hockey competition before the Queensland Veterans ladies championships will be held at the association on the June long weekend.
