Club to help Alex at carnival

THE Warwick Polocrosse Club NTI Rose Bowl Carnival this weekend will have an international flavour with the visit of a New Zealand team for the Cooper Cup and the Hands Up to Help Auction.

The Clubhouse Cafe opens at 5pm today, with the first Cooper Cup games at 6pm.

Games begin at 8am tomorrow and an auction will be held at 6.30pm to raise funds for Alex Rowe, a young woman from the Tansey club who is responding well to $9000-a-month treatment for leukemia.

The Warwick club expects to make $8500 out of a raffle. They sell 200 tickets at $50 each.

There is a first prize of $1000. Tickets are selling well and all money from the raffle will be presented to Alex and her husband Terrance to help with the cost of her treatment.

Tansey club member Russell Davison is organising an auction of items with an equestrian flavour to help Alex.

Raffle tickets are available from Robyn Fraser on 0419 781 363.

See the list of auction items at www.warwick dailynews.com.au and in tomorrow's edition.
