Clubs join up to help drought-stricken farmers

GOLF: A fundraising golf day on October 21 will help families struggling in the drought.

Condamine Sports Club representative Garry Hanson said the fundraiser was the idea of Nathan Bell from Hawker Road Function Centre.

"The day will be sponsored by the Condamine Sports Club as well as the five member clubs - Warwick cricket, netball, hockey and rugby, and Warwick Cowboys rugby league,” Hanson said.

The event will be a two-ball ambrose in which each team selects the best position of the previous shots to hit their next shot.

Hanson said the 18 holes at a cost of $100 each were sponsored by Warwick businesses within two days of the decision to hold the fundraiser.

Further donations have been made for a multi-draw raffle.

Bookings with the pro shop, phone 46613664. Noon hit off.
