C'mon mummy, work off that baby bump!

NEW mums don't need to fork out the big bucks on expensive exercise equipment - they already have everything necessary to get in shape.

A pram - and even the newborn bub - are the perfect workout tools, and an Ipswich duo can show you how to use them.

As personal trainers, Kelleigh Wallace developed the workouts with her sister-in-law Diane McKendrick after the arrival of her son eight months ago.

They called it Booty Camps, a workout session for pregnant mums or those wanting to get back in shape after childbirth.

Ms McKendrick said the class was a way for her to help other mums return to exercise.

"I just wanted to give ladies the opportunity to go outside and exercise and move with their kids," she said.

Pram lunges, squats, small hill runs and lying down pushing a 3kg baby are all part of the workout.

Ms Wallace said it was perfect for mums wanting to keep fit.

"We have designed the workout especially for ladies who are expecting a baby or who are six weeks or more post pregnancy," she said.

"If they can keep fit during the pregnancy they bounce back into exercise quicker and have more energy once the baby is born."

Ms Wallace said one of the regular members exercised right up to the day of her child's birth.

"Right up to the day she kept coming along until that morning. She has four kids now and she did it just so she could keep up with her kids."

The session helps mums keep fit in a safe and monitored environment throughout their pregnancy.

Exercising helps to lose those last baby kilos, tone up, regain core strength and improve general health and fitness post pregnancy.

The sessions are complete with babysitters on hand for mums wanting to workout freely without the worry of having to watch their baby/toddler, or without the stress of finding babysitters or being away from their child.
