Coach full of praise for Redbacks after loss at Highfields

AUSSIE RULES: The Redbacks went down by two goals to Highfields in the AFL Darling Downs game at Highfields on Saturday.

Coach Peter Millard rated centre Shannon Cameron as one of his best.

“Tyhe Clarkson was strong on the ball,” Peter said.

“Overall I was happy with the performance. We are playing more as a team each week.

Under-16 player Jarrod Fawcett made his debut in seniors and went well on the half-forward flank.

“Jarrod was absolutely fearless. Hayden Barr also played well on the half-forward flank and set up a few goals with plenty of touches in attack,” Peter said.

Tony Chandler had another strong game in defence after being moved up field to play as an onballer.

Kris Millard returned from injury to kick three goals after playing both in attack and defence.

The Redbacks play South Burnett at Warwick Credit Union Oval on Saturday.

There was no ladies game on Saturday.
