Coach with Manchester United experience in Warwick

FOOTBALL: Three coaches with experience in Europe are in Warwick this week for a four-day Total Football Academy Clinic at the Warwick Wolves grounds at Queens Park.

Dean Gregory has coached juniors at Manchester United and Burnley and is now part of the Total Football Academy at the Gold Coast. He has coached in academies in more than six countries

He and three fellow coaches are in Warwick this week for the clinic that attracted 46 players yesterday. Two of the four have coached in England and one in Holland. The fourth coach plays for Palm Beach United in the Gold Coast league.

“There are really good facilities in Warwick and plenty of players with good skills,” Gregory said.

“Last year, Warwick brought some teams down to our invitation-only carnival at the Gold Coast. We spoke to Tim Gaske about the possibility of coaching in Warwick.”

Gaske heads the Warwick Wolves Academy and said the first day of the clinic had been fantastic.

“It is great for our players to see a different style of coaching and for our coaches to take ideas and skills away from coaches who have coached in higher leagues across the world,” he said.

All four visiting coaches are B licensed coaches and they will be passing on their skills to the Warwick players this week as well as at a coach-to-coach session tomorrow at 4.30pm–6pm at the football grounds at Queens Park. Warwick football coaches welcome.

Parents with children keen to be involved at Queens Park in the next three days from 9am–2.30pm can call Gaske for more information on 0434 211441.
