Coaches proud of netball success
NETBALL: The Warwick 15 years team has finished fourth at the State Age Championships at the Hinterland courts on the Gold Coast.
Warwick was equal third on points but was fourth on a countback in 15 years.
The team was trained for the state championships by coach Derek Kane but looked after by Bron Maw at the weekend.
In the 13 years age group, the Warwick team came eighth on a count back under coach Kerri Shooter.
The side had four wins and seven losses.
Warwick was ninth after a count back in the 14 years age group under the coaching of Codie Brackin.
The team had two wins and seven losses, many by small margins.
Warwick Netball Association secretary Linda Bunch said all coaches commented about the fantastic efforts by the girls all weekend.
"All games were played on the 17 flexi pave courts at Hinterland, the same court type as at Barnes Park," Bunch said.
"The carnival was run really well by the Hinterland association.
"The players enjoyed it far better than in the past two years when the rain bucketed down at the Sunshine Coast."
There were no fixtures last night due to the long weekend but C grade social fixtures will be played tonight. Round 4 of inter-district netball will be hosted by Lockyer association at Laidley on Sunday.
The round is at Laidley as the Lockyer association is upgrading its court at Gatton.
