RODEO: Singleton rider Cody Heffernan will be one of the favourites for the Rural Weekly Live Series PBR Bull Ride under lights at the Collegians grounds in Warwick on December 5.

Heffernan has won three of the past eight PBR events in Australia.

Forty riders will line up against the best bulls in the nation in the first round in Warwick and then the top 10 will qualify for the championship round.

PBR general manager Glen Young said on average 35 to 40 percent of riders made time on their bulls.

At the weekend, Brazilian rider Cristiano Cunha won the PBR at the Tamworth Invitational.

Nathan Burtenshaw from Coonamble, New South Wales, was third at Tamworth and is a likely starter at the Collegians ground in Warwick.

The Rural Weekly Live Series comprises seven events. The first of the new series will be at Emerald on November 28 and then Warwick will buck out on December 5.

"Riders that compete in the Rural Weekly Live Series are vying for an additional $15,000 prizemoney from APN," Young said.

Gates open at 5.30pm.
