College prepares to enter new era at Slade

IN THREE weeks time students and teachers at the Warwick Christian College will gather up their schoolbooks and move into their new home at the former Slade campus.

Principal Terrence McCorkell said the whole school was looking forward to the big move.

"It is all very exciting," he said.

"Our first day at the new campus will be November 26.

"Students will get two weeks there before the end of the school year."

From next year the school will be expanding its capacity beyond primary school levels and introducing Year 8.

"So far it looks like we will have 85-90 students across the school," Mr McCorkell said.

"In Year 8 next year we have about 20 students enrolled."

Mr McCorkell said the increase in enrolments meant more teachers would be needed.

"I want to keep working with local people as much as possible," he said.

"They have local knowledge which is good to have on board."
