Collegians and Eastern Suburbs join up for state carnival

RUGBY LEAGUE: Collegians and Eastern Suburbs clubs have been successful with their application to host next season's Central Crows carnival for junior boys and girls age groups.

The Western Mustangs, Wide Bay Bulls, Sunshine Coast Falcons and Central Queensland Capras will play.

The carnival will be on June 6-8 next year and the Warwick Polocrosse Club at Morgan Park will be turned into a tent city with accommodation for 500 players. Clubs or businesses are needed for catering.

Collegians president Deb Scanlan said her club's main field would be scarified and aerated before being top dressed for next season.

"The field is not being ripped up,” she said.

Suburbs president Darren Hart said there would be a lot of work involved.

"Club members were pretty keen to secure the carnival and it will provide a major economic boost to the Warwick area,” he said.

Catering offers to Scanlan on 0438186040.
