Collegians to kick off footy season next week
RUGBY LEAGUE: The Collegians Junior Rugby League Club is ready to welcome players aged from under-9 to U16 to the first training sessions on February 28 at 5pm at the grounds in Jackie Howe Dr.
The Collegians U7 and U8 players start training on March 2 at 5pm and the girls leaguetag on March 7 at 4pm.
The coaches will work under the direction of coaching director Scott Morton, a long-time player who represented Australia at tertiary level.

About the coaches
Under-7: Garth Miller - 200-game Cowboys player who played rugby at school and his first league at senior level for Warwick. First season as a coach.
U8: Ben Brownlie - The forward they called Butter is in his second year of coaching at Collegians after playing 200 games for the Cowboys.
U9: Basil Nolan - In his third year as a coach this time round after coaching some years ago. Played for Cowboys in the 1999 TRL grand final.
U10: David Hallman - Most capped Cowboys player who is in his fourth year of coaching after U7s at Hervey Bay and U7s and U8s at Collegians.
U11: Kerry Scanlan - Cowboys hooker in 1999 grand final. Fifth year coaching and believes his role is to teach core skills to the players.
U12: Josh Williams - Three premierships in past three years as a coach. Has dropped back two age groups to coach a new group for him. On club committee.
U14: Bob Bell - Representative prop for Bundaberg before moving to Warwick to teach at Assumption. Premiership-winning coach.
U16: Craig Frattini - Head coach for Collegians U16s in a season when the club will field two teams. His assistants Scott Morton and Tim Doyle will each have a role with one team.
Girls leaguetag: Deb Scanlan - First woman to preside over Collegians club and has four years' experience as a coach.
