Come and try drag racing at Morgan Park on Saturday

DRAG RACING: Come and try drag racing - that is the program from 7pm Saturday at Warwick Dragway as part of Road Trip.

Forty Road Trip drivers will compete at the dragway from 2pm to 7pm Saturday before sitting down to a trackside dinner.

Road Trip is two days of drag racing at Willowbank, Warwick and Lakeside.

There will be plenty of noise during the dinner as Road Trip organiser Mick Apps and the Warwick District Drag Racing Association organise a come-and-try night.

"Anyone with a street car, drag racing vehicle or a motor bike is welcome to try drag racing on the strip at Morgan Park from 7pm Saturday,” Apps said.

"We are hoping each driver or rider will have a minimum of three or four passes on the night.

"A lot of people don't realise they can go drag racing with any car or bike and enjoy driving it on the track in a safe environment. We have one four-wheel drive on the Road Trip which has been boosted to 800HP.”

The come-and-try night will cost $20 which is half normal price. Track licences can be purchased on the day. Nominations at drags office.
