COMMENT: Our youth could have answers for region

AS THE Federal election nears, it’s refreshing to get the perspectives of young future voters.

Aside from the constant inane chatter about jobs, growth and the economy, that is seemingly falling on deaf ears, it’s great to see a class of younger people with education high on their priorities.

While the group of School of Total Education Year 11 students are still two years off being able to vote, it’s nice to hear their views and see them relatively engaged about the future of the region.

Fair Go has been an important part of opening the eyes of many to some of the unfairness and inequity in regional areas such as Warwick.

Perhaps to solve this imbalance between the cities and regional areas, our political leaders could spend more time talking with our youth.

Those who, although they are not voters, are aware enough to know the big issues affecting them.

These students are the future of our great region, they deserve a fair go.
