Concert fundraiser will rock hard
WHETHER you’re an old-school Elvis fan or prefer to rock out to something with a heavy bass, Warwick residents are invited to a rock’n’roll concert this weekend.
Performances by Roger and Buddy Knox and A2B will shake off any winter chills and set the floorboards of St Mary’s Hall jumping when they take to the stage.
There will be great music from locals Alan Taylor and A2B, as well as the smooth-voiced Roger Knox and ace guitarist Buddy Knox, who will be fresh from the Gympie Music Muster.
The concert will be a night for the whole family.
People are encouraged to don their best rock’n’roll outfit or just come along for a dance.
There will be prizes for the best-dressed and raffle prizes to be won.
All money raised will go towards funding a trip for local singers Coral Brown and Del Charles, who will join a singing tour of Uganda next month.
The tour is being organised by not-for-profit charity Kwaya, which supports an orphanage in Kampala.
The Warwick singers will perform in front of an audience of thousands, including the King of Uganda.
The concert will kick off at 6.30pm on Saturday, August 27, at St Mary’s Hall, Wood St.
Tickets are $10 each – gold coin donation for children – and will be sold at the door.
Supper is included in the price.
