Conference hears Qld farm workers have right to safety

WORKING in rural or remote areas or on a farm does not mean you have any less right to a safe work environment.

That is the message from the Queensland Rural and Remote Women's Network conference being held this week.

Workplace Health and Safety Queensland's agricultural unit head Fiona O'Sullivan said women from all over Queensland came together to network and share experiences as part of the conference.

"Conference-goers will hear that workplace injury rates are falling across all Queensland industries.

However, the agricultural industry sits well above other industries in terms of fatalities and serious injuries," she said.
