Confusion surrounds Southern Downs postal voting
POLLING day may be tomorrow but some voters still without ballot papers have said they were unaware postal voting would happen council election.
Queuing outside the electoral office at Warwick Town Hall this afternoon, Kelli Penn said she was yet to receive her ballot papers despite updating her address details six months ago.
"I didn't know it was a wholly postal vote," Ms Penn said.
"I don't really get the paper and I haven't been in contact with anyone about it so I think it should have been advertised a bit better.
"It doesn't bother me too much to be here today but I did have to wait until today so I didn't have any kids to worry about."
Voter Nicole Smith said she was also confused by the change to solely postal voting.
"I didn't know until last night that it was only a postal vote.
"We've only updated our details a few weeks ago so I don't know if that was too late to have them sent out," Ms Smith said.
"We expected to just rock up on Saturday to vote because we're used to voting at polling booths - how I've done it for last nine years."
