Cool snap sets in for weekend

YOUNG Isabella Fletcher was thrilled to see her boyfriend Carter McLaren had a good eye for gifts when he bought her a colourful beanie yesterday.

There was no waiting for winter, Isabella put it on as soon as she stepped onto Leslie Park, to keep her warm in the cool breeze.

And, it looks like she won't be taking it off too soon, with the cool snap expected to linger over the weekend, with cloudy conditions on the radar for today.

Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Jonty Hall said the weekend outlook was looking a tad bleak.

"There are fairly unsettled conditions and the shower activity is likely to merge to the Warwick area (today)," Mr Hall said.

"Overnight temperatures should be relatively mild."

He said the recent chill was due to a large high pressure system pushed up from the south.

Temperatures

Today: Minimum of 13 degrees and top of 23.

Tomorrow: Minimum of 13 and maximum of 25.
