Cooper Cup first for the season in polocrosse
IT WILL be Queensland versus New Zealand when the Hyfeed Cooper Cup is played at the Cunningham Polocrosse Club Carnival on April 8-9 at Bony Mountain Recreation Reserve.
The cup will be played in conjunction with the Cunningham carnival and straight after the Southern Youth Camp at Bony Mountain.
Queensland polocrosse has the first of its youth camps scheduled for Capella in central Queensland this weekend but I don't like their chances with the rain.
Killarney carnival
KILLARNEY will be the venue for the Gold Coast Polocrosse Carnival on April 15-16 as a forerunner to the Carroll's Truck Sales International Series, Barastoc Interstate Series and Shell Cup in Warwick on April 20-23.
Can't wait to see one of the great left-handers, Hayden Turnbull, lead the Australian men at Morgan Park in three April Tests.
I remember when he arrived in Warwick for the 2007 World Cup with an old Brumby ute decked out in Australian colours. Not sure if it would have passed a yearly roadworthy but from a polocrosse perspective the Aussies easily won the World Cup under the coaching of Warwick official Ross Shepherd.
Races return
TODAY'S races are off so the focus turns to the picnics on May 13.
The chances are a new date may be found for the Warwick RSL Memorial Race Day in May or June.
