Cooper excels in polocrosse, cricket and off to the dinner
CARLY Cooper enjoyed an outstanding 2016 in two sports and is one of the 11 monthly winners to be honoured on March 20.
Cooper represented Queensland in the polocrosse nationals in an under-21 team which was runner-up.
Late in the season, the Cunningham player represented Queensland in an U21tri-state series victory against Western Australia and Victoria in Walkaway, Western Australia.
She was part of Wheatvale Cricket Club which won the Warwick A-grade premiership and was selected to represent Queensland Country in the nationals in Wollongong.
Cooper batted at No.8 at the start of the carnival.
She scored 29 not out in rescuing Queensland from 6-30 against Victorian Country and was promoted to open the batting for the rest of the carnival.
She finished with a strike rate of 97 and average in the mid 20s. She was 11th on the run tally at the T20 national carnival to challenge for Australian Country selection.
"I was disappointed to miss the national team this season and want to make the team next season,”
she said.
