Count Southern Downs children in to sing!

SOUTHERN Downs celebrated musical education in schools as part of the Count Us In movement at Leslie Park on Thursday.

Children from Warwick West, Warwick Central, Wheatvale, Glennie Heights, and Warwick Christian College assembled at the rotunda after weeks of practising in class.

Music teacher Jayne Shelley was proud to organise schools from across the Southern Downs to harmonise with their peers.

At 10.30am hundreds of local children began to sing in time with others from across the country.

Children sang songs in native Aboriginal languages before performing the official selection.

The song this year was ‘We are’, written by aspiring student performers to signify unity.
