Pluto meets to-be wife at circus

THE tale of Pluto and Georgie may not sound like your modern day Romeo and Juliet, but it's just as romantic.

Lennon Bros Circus clown Pluto or, as he is known without the red nose, Drew Stevenson, ran away with the circus for love.

While working at a hotel bar in Robina, Drew met his now wife Georgie Lennon when the Lennon Bros Circus was set up across the road.

"You could say it was love at first sight," he said.

As well as getting to know Georgie during her three-week stay, Drew met the whole troop including her family.

"I wasn't charming, just tolerant," Georgie added with a laugh, as she sat with Drew on their caravan steps.

The couple was married at the Gold Coast in November last year.

Drew, now with four years on the road under his belt, preforms as a clown and an acrobat.

"I guess I have always been a silly sort of person," Drew said.

Drew works alongside Jye Lennon, a clown named Shaggy.

"We are always back and forth at each other," Jye said.

Georgie said she would study HR, while Drew would be on a beach at the Gold Coast, if they weren't on the road.

But for Jye there is no place like home, which is the circus.

"I have tried my hand at so many different jobs and this is the only place I want to be," he said.

Circus tricks of the Trade

There are no excuses for being late to work, you live here.

Make sure you pack down your caravan properly.

Don't try for a job at the circus if you have a fear of clowns.
