Couples plan perfect wedding day

LEANA Gilchrist and Tyhe Clarkson became engaged at Christmas and figure they will have plenty of time to save for their wedding in 2013.

Yesterday, they were among 70 couples who attended the Wedding Expo at WIRAC.

There were displays wall to wall in the championship court.

Ms Gilchrist hails from Warwick and said their wedding felt more real after being at the expo.

“We haven’t decided on a town or venue yet,” Mr Clarkson said.

Julieann Morris and her future daughter-in-law Ariel Cho were also at the expo.

Ms Morris was checking out the expo for the wedding of her son Blake to Ms Cho in October, but also to help her son Tyson who is getting married in May next year.

“Tyson is in Darwin and I am helping with the legwork,” Ms Morris said.

While Ms Cho said her wedding was likely to be at the Gold Coast, she said much of what was required could be obtained from businesses at the expo.

Andrew Coy and Amanda Cox only became engaged last week so they said the timing of the expo was perfect.

The Zonta Club of Warwick worked on reception at the event, which enabled them to receive gold coin donations of $200 to help with their projects.

President Lois James said the money would go towards birthing kits and breast cushions for women after theatre.
