Cowboys back for finals

TWO Warwick riders are flying back from America to contest the Australian Professional Rodeo Association National Finals Rodeo which starts next Thursday.

Saddle bronc rider Lucas Wilson and bareback bronc ride Fred Osman will return to Australian soil for the finals, which were postponed from January, due to flooding.

Lucas finished fourth in the APRA standings in 2010 during a year when he worked as a supply teacher at Assumption College, his former school.

He was seventh in rookie standings two years ago in America and has the ability to win his first open APRA title next week.

After just missing a title last year, Gore rider Fred Osman will compete next week despite a broken hand as he chases his first open title at the finals.

Such is his determination to win a title; he will hold the bareback rope with his other hand.

There are four night sessions from Thursday to Sunday next week and a Saturday matinee session.
