Cowboys chase a cup win in reserve grade on Sunday
RUGBY LEAGUE: Kick-off is 12.50pm Sunday as the Warwick Cowboys start their President’s Cup final against Gatton at Cahill Park on Sunday.
“We know to expect a hostile reception at Gatton,” Doyle said.
“It is a great place to play rugby league and the Hawks are a well supported club. As always, we know there will be loyal Cowboys supporters at Gatton cheering us on in all grades.”
Doyle said the core of the defence this season had been built around David Hallman and Mitch McMahon.
“They are strong in the middle and know how to win each tackle,” he said.
“Josh McIntosh has had an outstanding season to date at hooker creating try-scoring opportunities across the field.”
Doyle said what was important was for his team to make the cup final with only one loss.
“We won a few games on our ability but we fell away from the structure we wanted to play,” he said.
“The team has a lot of improving to do if we want to push on and have a chance of winning the premiership.
“The whole club should be really proud to be at the half-way mark of the season with only five losses across under-18, reserve and A-grades.”
