Cowboys coach lists hooker as key in finals

RUGBY LEAGUE: The Warwick Cowboys second-division side has two wins against Valleys this season and coach David Hallman hopes to make it three from three in a knockout finals game at Clive Berghofer Stadium at 10am Sunday.

Hallman said his side would be without Brock Eastwell who was competing at the Mt Isa Rodeo.

"Hooker Nick Cussen will be a key player,” he said.

"Two of our key forwards are Frank 'Jay' Hankinson and Kallum McKenzie.

"Five-eighth Kenny Parsons and fullback Kev Poole are two of the backline leaders.”

Hallman has been out with injury but hopes to return for the finals match.

Warwick finished third in the fixture season and has to win three successive games to make the grand final.

The Warwick Cowboys qualified for the TRL reserve grade top six with a 36-24 win against Souths at Glenholme Park in Wednesday night's playoff.

Bart McIntosh scored three tries for Warwick and will be a key in the reserve-grade knockout final on Sunday.

The Cowboys now play three successive finals games on Sunday from 10am: second division, under 18 and then reserve grade.
