Cowboys end A-grade minor premiership drought
RUGBY LEAGUE: The Warwick Cowboys have won the club's first A-grade minor premiership in 29 years.
No.1 billing at the end of the TRL fixture round was secured with a 78-10 victory against Goondiwindi at Father Ranger Oval on Saturday night.
The highlight was four tries and 11 goals to winger Dan Watson.
Forward Matt Marshall showed plenty of class with two of the plays of the second half, one a ball-and-all tackle that Oigin Nate Myles would have been proud of, and the other a long range try he set up for fullback Craig Donn.
Marshall broke away from a kick-off and was well over half-way when he kicked 10 metres ahead for Donn to get the perfect bounce for a try under the posts.
Warwick won 34-20 in reserve grade and 30-10 in the under-18 clash to secure back-to-back club championships.
