Duo star as Cowboys win derby
GARRY Ellery and Paul Cantwell were the best as the Warwick Cowboys beat Wattles 30-22 in the local derby at Platz Oval yesterday.
Wattles led 16-12 at half-time and scored in the 18th minute of the second half to lead 22-18.
Cowboys back Lincoln Cutmore positioned himself well to score two tries in quick succession to put his side up 28-22.
Michael O’Keefe kicked a late penalty for a 30-22 victory.
Second rower Brayden Hockings impressed with some fine offloads and his usual strong defence, while John Trindall had a strong game after being moved from the front row to centre.
Lock Aaron Scheid scored two tries and was tireless for Wattles while second rowers Luke Baker and Glen McMillan had strong games. Russell McMillan played well in the centres.
In the fourth Legends of League game, Cambooya Old Boys defeated Wattles Legends 20-0.
