Cowboys’ first female president to step down at AGM
RUGBY LEAGUE: After two years in the role, Warwick Cowboys president Maryanne Loudon will stand down from the role at tonight's annual general meeting.
She was secretary in 2013 and became the first female president for the Cowboys in 2014.
Loudon said she was standing down for family reasons but was keen to be part of the committee.
"I know of one person who is prepared to be nominated for president," Loudon said.
"We will definitely have a stable committee for next year with some new people offering to be on the committee."
She said the club was keen to add the positions of assistant secretary and assistant treasurer to the committee.
"We are also looking for more first-aid officers and have a bit of money available for training," she said.
Loudon said she had a lot of confidence in the club for next season.
Greg Carey is prepared to stand again for a 17th consecutive term on the Cowboys committee.
He was president for 10 years and has been on the committee for 16 years.
"The club is looking strong for next season. There are many talented players in the area and some of the players from the strong under-18 team will move up to the senior ranks," he said.
All welcome to the meeting at 6.30 tonight at the Hawker Rd Function Centre.
Only members can vote.
