Cowboys smash Goondiwindi

FULLBACK Zac Pauli scored three tries as the Warwick Cowboys beat Goondiwindi 70-6 in the first Toowoomba Rugby League games on a Friday night.

Warwick led 48-0 at first half after following the instructions of coach Gary Lawrence to dominate the ruck area.

Goondiwindi tried hard all game but could not match the classy Warwick backline moves of the first half.

Ryan McIvor scored two tries and received the player-of-the-match award and players’ player award for the home side after a command performance in his new position of five-eighth.

Jarred Bradfield received one player-of-the-year point coming off the bench.

Halfback Trent Achilles landed 11 goals. Prop Cameron Mulcahy now has four tries from two games.

In reserve grade, Warwick won 38-16. Josh Klein scored two tries for Warwick and coach Andrew Sullivan landed three goals.

Michael O’Keefe scored two tries as Warwick won 28-16 in the U18 game against Goondiwindi on Friday night.

Warwick won 44-8 against Brothers in C-grade at Platz Oval yesterday. Michael Marshall scored three tries and landed four goals to tally 20 points.
